Dragon Quest IV: Manya/Minea vs Maya/Meena

Yup, it's Mitpick Tyme once again! This time, a matter that I started out with, the differences in names for the DRAGON QUEST IV sisters.

Now, Danbooru asserts that the Japanese names are "Manya" (for the dancer) and "Minea" (for the fortune-teller). As the link above shows, the names going into the North American DS release of the game have been present in the Japanese DS release, accessable through hacking devices. Alternatively, the official Japanese website for DQIV(DS)/DQIVDS (whichever) features wallpapers that give Manya/Maya as "Manâ" and Minea/Meena as "Minea".

I ask you, Danbooru patrons, two things:
1) Could you show me officia Romaji proof of the current names being their original ones?
2) Of the names presented above, which would you consider most viable for replacing the standing ones, if that ever occured (in the case of Minea/Meena, there's less discrepancy to deal with)?

Updated

Bumping, since this is something I'd like to know about/have discussed (further?).

I'd also like to bring in the CHRONO TRIGGER characters; "Kaeru"'s already got an alias, but as the Japanese trailer for the DS version's shown, there are more divergeances to cover.

Also: "Mitpick" → "Nitpick" (there's Editting, but it's so old </sultan>)

While hardly official, most of the current manya images say マーニャ. This also seems to be what Pixiv uses (http://www.pixiv.net/search.php?word=%E3%83%9E%E3%83%BC%E3%83%8B%E3%83%A3&s_mode=s_tag). I say stick with manya. Maybe maanya if we want to be pedantic.

According to Pixiv (http://www.pixiv.net/tags.php?tag=%E3%83%9F%E3%83%8D%E3%82%A2), Minea is ミネア.

I know we have an inconsistency about when to use JP or EN names, especially for video game characters, but manya/minea already have plenty of posts here and I think the trend is to use whatever is common. This is different for anime because the JP names are so easy to discover and validate.

I vote to leave things as they are.

Minea looks pretty solid. Manya should probably stay too.

I mean, honestly, looking at the link provided in the top post, many of those "official" romanizations are kind of.. dumb. ロザリー (Rozarii [Rosalie/Rosary?])= Rose? Where's the last bit go? Others are just completely different names, like パノン (Banon) = Tom.

So I don't think it can be used as a source for the names. Thus Manya and Minea seem entirely justified and should stay.
