How do I tag this?

Helmets have their own color tags, so no, they're not considered hats.

OK. Thanks for the help.
Is it the case that all superset tags (i.e. hats as a superset of helmets) should not be applied if there is a more appropriate subset tag? (helmet) Is it only if that subset has colors? (red_helmet)

Technically yes, but hats and helmets are two different categories of headwear... Hats are made of fabric, helmets are hard.

I see. I was thinking of hats as being a loose term which are mostly soft/non-defensive, but with some overlap with helmets (such as a work site helmet being referred to as a hard hat).
Would you agree that the wiki would be clearer if it said "a fabric garment" rather that only "a garment"?

What kind of "sprite" is a visual novel character sprite like post #9168251?

I have been using sprite but might need to fix those posts if that's wrong.

When I think of sprite, I think of animated character graphics from 2D games, not visual novels, but I don’t actually know how broadly the tag applies under its current use.

However, I can say that tachi-e should be used for those.

Edit: Sniped.
