Tag alias: spilling -> spill

Posted under Tags

I've interpreted the spill tag as the mess left behind after the action is done (not sure if I was aware of spilled), while the action should definitely be spilling. Probably should make the difference between spilling and pouring clear too. I'd think of the former as being accidental and the latter intentional, but the wiki for spilling says it can be intentional too.

Huh... I don't think I've ever used pouring unless it was from one container into another. I've always thought of spilling as an action that happens when a container gets too full or a liquid is spilled (intentionally or unintentionally) onto some surface, whether it be a person's body or the floor.

Anyway, I don't see the spill/spilling combination any more confusing than similar noun/verb combinations such as snow/snowing or vomit/vomiting. As long as we consistently use verbs in gerund form rather than dictionary form, it shouldn't be too hard to avoid getting them mixed up.

How about aliasing (spilled -> spill) then ...?
