Edit
A SNES RPG with real-time battles. Unlike Secret of Mana (SNES) (Seiken Densetsu 2), Seiken Densetsu 3 was never released outside of Japan. An English fan translation patch was made available in 2000.
There are 6 characters to choose from and you must pick a team of three. You can switch control between the characters at any time, and two friends can also take control of them. Depending on who you pick the story will change, you'll obviously follow the plot of your main character, but the other two also change the plot. In addition, sometimes new plot events will occur when you *don't* have someone in your party - perhaps most famously if you are playing as Riesz and you reach a certain area you'll see Hawkeye standing there if you don't have him in your team. He gets so excited at what you tell him that he kisses you. You'll meet all of the characters at some point, no matter who you pick, but they will never join you.
Perhaps the most memorable thing about SD3, apart from the stunning graphics, is the class change system. Each character begins at a base class and gets two class changes along a "good" or "evil" path that affect your skills and stats but not the plot.
