A puzzle-adventure series exclusively released on the Nintendo DS. The series revolves around an Archeologist named Hershel Layton, a gentleman and lover of all things puzzle. The games are designed by Level-5 and feature brain-teaser puzzles that range from simplistic to downright maddening.

There are presently four games released so far. The first three games are refered to as "episodes" 4, 5, and 6. With the fourth being the first in a new prequel trilogy.
