MEIKO (メイコ; めいこ)

Meiko is the first Japanese female Vocaloid, she is powered by Yamaha's Vocaloid series 1 engine and was developed by Crypton. Her voice is based on singer Haigo Meiko. Although rougher sounding, Meiko and her companion Kaito are able to incorporate much broader voice range.

Her avatar was illustrated by Wasshi. As a mascot character, she is the older sister figure for the Vocaloid group. She has short brown hair; wears a red miniskirt, crop top, and boots. She is seen with a microphone stand, and is also frequently seen drinking from One Cup Ozeki, a sake widely available through vending machines.
