Can I ask what 物好 means? I have two conflicting translations regarding that. 物 having to do with objects suggests the Voile translation is correct, yet she uses "iru" rather than "aru" and her tone doesn't sound like she's talking about what's inside.
Hmm, if it's liberal translation, I have another candidate which is "Yup, guess strange things do happen, huh?". Based on the fanon context that Alice has no friends and is a loner, it is strange for her to receive a gift from somebody else....Too much liberty?
The fanon is different for artists and Mori no Hon's Alice doesn't seem to be the friendless type. He prefers warm stories after all.
The other translation (in another language) I used as a reference gave "I guess there are jobless people out there" or similar. Since she used the word idle curiosity, she seems to be talking about the fabricated sender of the gift, and that seems to fit the context a bit. Still, too much liberty, I wonder?
Should have done this from the very beginning. I'm almost 100% sure with this one, "Yup, guess there ARE other people with strange hobby (like you), huh?"
OR
"Yup, guess you're not the only one with a strange hobby, huh?"
Taken from "Goo Jisho", the first definition seems to fit the context,
Trans: To like unusual things. Strong curiosity, to like thing that is not usual/normal/ordinary. Like that person, just like that. [A person who would swim in the middle of winter]
Ah, good. Nice of you to go to such lengths to eliminate errors.
I spotted at least two more errors on the Voile translation as well, one of them apparently a careless mistake.
An autonomous doll possessing human emotions....Hmm, for me?Hey, Alice. What brings you? Are you here with something to bother me again?I wonder, Hourai, what you are.Why so heartless? I'm here to deliver a present for somebody.Just how rude can you be?This sure is interesting. However....From watching my puppet show...?Let us leave it be for now.Yup, guess you're not the only one with a strange hobby, huh?Come on, you can try to open it. Seems like it was inspired from watching your puppet show.
