Ai is actually not that bad once you get to know her. It's cute to see Nanako interact with MC's friend out of the inner circle.

Ai's first few levels are rather rough and unfortunately give a bad first impression of her character. That and her being one of the hardest to date (I didn't know about the Friendzone thing the first time) seems to effect the attention she gets.
It's a shame really, once you get at the real Ai she's really nice.
