Was kinda hoping Mokou would emerge and be like, "...Okay. My turn. *smirk*" Continuing to stand around and let Ran have a free shot seems more dangerous to me... she's who I worry about more.
I think it's cooler to walk out of an explosion and complaining about it. Not sure about how Ran would attack, but being a shikigami of Yukari, she'd better show some high power

"kokkuri sans contract" the spellcard witch actually looks like a sealing tecnique and possibly the only way to stop moukou as for okuu she better go against koinshi if you cant see the enemy use wide area attacks
^ Meh, Phoenix is way higher ranked than Kyuubi, also Mokou has enough skill to survive an A-Bomb without getting her clothes torn so Ran won't do shit on her.
^ Hard to tell, they don't show up in the same mythology. I wouldn't discredit kitsune though. Kitsune are among the top dogs of Japanese mythology, only seeing dragons and oni as legitimate rivals.
As for the fight, from Mokou's dialogue we can assume the series is using fast-reincarnation. So Mokou can't die and Utsuho lives in the Blazing Hells. They're both going to be mostly immune to the blunt damage of each others attacks. Utsuho does have the edge though, Mokou uses mundane fire while Utsuho's attacks come with a heaping dose of Rads. The artist has proven clever enough to come up with something like that, the only concern is if Utsuho is.
Ran has both power and intelligence in a series that will actually let her use both. She could be matched with anyone and still be one of the strongest contenders and her partner ends up being Utsuho, the most destructive force this side of Flandre. I'd rank Mokou's firepower below Utsuho's but she counters with her inability to die and the pain threshold she's developed from it. Koishi is still in the dark. She's an ex-boss with no clear origin to her power, kind of like Nue, and she doesn't exactly have precedent in fighting games or combat-focused doujin. She's the darkhorse for this fight, it all comes down to how the author interprets her.
They're in the same mythology, they just never fought. Phoenix is basically the immortal bird that controls the strongest, everlasting flame (not hell's) and represents birth, cycle of life. I believe they're in the same rank as dragons, divine and as powerful as gods. Kyuubi is a top tier youkai, but it's still nowhere near gods like dragons or phoenixes. The oni is strong physically, but still just a superior race to human (youkai isn't a race, so there are some youkai that's stronger than oni). I think the oni don't have much ground when facing a supreme kyuubi (the kyuubi that spent another centuries to train itself, in pair with 8 headed snake, supreme spider or an element youkai)
The only thing here is Mokou is still a human, so her body is fragile. And in a danmaku fight like this, being badass and stand like a stone isn't a very good idea.
Last I checked, Phoenix is not Japanese. It's more Mid-Eastern(Africa, Europe, those places) and Chinese. Kitsune, at least this one, is Japanese. Dunno which is better. One is absurdly smart and powerful, one just WON'T. STAY. DOWN.

Um, The Phoenix was originally Egyptian. The Japanese version has nothing that states it's an immortal bird that rebirths through immolation. It's just a really elegant red bird.
Meanwhile Kitsune are one of the few yokai in japanese mythology that progressively increase in power till they are more or less minor gods. Kitsune gain 1 tail every one hundred years, at 800 years old they are considered Kyuubi kitsune ~ Nine tailed foxes. After they gain their ninth tail they then begin to lose them over the course of another five hundred years, while still growing in power, at the age of 1300 years old, with four tails, they become Tenko, or heavenly foxes.

This. Goddamn shenanigans, she should've came back nearly nekkid and we would've enjoyed seeing Moko-tan throwing high kicks in skimpy tattered remains of lingerie...
You can read "Phoenix" by Osamu Tezuka for more details on Japanese's phoenix. I'm not sure it has anything to do with Egyptian phoenix, but in Asian the term "phoenix" is often refer to the fire bird in "four divine beasts".

Mokou is too sexy for her shirt, if it gets torn and expose her hot sexy body, the manga will blow up and tora tooru will die.

The direct comment above mine AND as she put it, the attack was so fierce that not even Mokou knows if she actually survived the blast. Evidence suggests she got COMPLETELY VAPORIZED, so everything must regenerate...
Or else Koichi is simply altering your sighting and unconscious memory to only see her clothed self and she actually regenerated with nothing on.
Yeah. See the talismans on her pants? They prevent Mokou from losing her clothes every time she uses her power. However, she doesn't wear any of them on her shirt... so she "should" be shirtless right now.
Not yet, Miss Utsuho!Kzzt.... That was a complex sensation.Shuff...hmph! I already knew simple damage couldn't take her down!SHWAFFThat was so intense, I'm not even sure if I died or not.KRRMMZzzkKrchShhssss.... Resurrection...!Fujiwara no Mokou has arisen!!!
