Missed on purpose... And then letting Misti do the dirty work afterwards - is Tenshi being noble or just having a "Don't worry since your weak I'll give you another chance" attitude?
I think it is a given that Chen and Akyuu will win the match against Mystia and Tenshi, considering the author's tendency to glorify the traditional 'lower tier' characters.
The only question is how badly Tenshi and Mystia will lose the match: even fight all the way till the very end (ala Meiling + Patchy vs Sakuya + Alice match), or a complete freak ending like the Kanako + Hina vs Aya + Suika match. My money is on the latter.

Isn't that basically the same thing, though? Being gracious to an inferior opponent strikes me as pretty noble. (Though, I guess it's also possible she's just being nice to Mystia.)
Incidentally, it was a very bad call. Akyuu is the key to the whole fight, and she can predict all of Mystia's moves. It would have been a better idea for Tenshi to just stomp Akyuu herself and then deal with Chen.

I wouldn't say it's a given - some of the strong teams need to advance for the underdogs to fight in later rounds, after all.
Anyway, it's not like Chen and Akyuu can win on raw power - they haven't really done more then annoy Tenshi and are only hanging in there because of Akyuu's tactics. I don't think we're looking at a quick win regardless of who ends up on top.
The question I have is....Which team is 'lower tier'?
Chen's a stage 3, but near Ran, she is *also* an EX-Midboss.
Tenshi's a final boss (Of a fighting game, which this series appears to be mirroring quite well).
Akyuu's a noncombatant, and Mysty's a stage....Two? boss.
EX-midboss + noncom Final + stage 2
Feels pretty even to me, though Tenshi's clearly got the advantage of actually knowing how to fight in melee. We've seen how that can be a difference before, with Meiling...And we've also seen how predictive maneuvers can be overcome, with Cirno...
On the other hand, what we have here is Batman and Catwoman teamed up, and Tenshi is falling into the same trap Satori did of sorely underestimating her opponents.
Remember, Akyuu was watching Tenshi...building up a predictive model for her. I think all of the moves made so far have been to prolong the fight and see how Tenshi reacts. If they won early, good, but more important is building up that record.

There's nothing noble about what Tenshi is doing. She just underestimates Akyuu (at best viewing her as the 'brain' behind Chen's 'muscle'), and mistakenly believes Chen is the only real threat. Therefore, she sent Mystia, who she probably doesn't think too highly of to begin with, to deal with the one she thinks is harmless while she keeps the enemy she thinks is the only real combatant busy (or perhaps she even thinks she can defeat Chen easily if Mystia is preventing Akyuu from giving advice).
Wha-nya!?Ah!W-wait!Roger!W-wait!Chin chin!I'm putting you in charge of that human!! Got it?Gasp!!Tenshi's keystone appeared to be punching in some random direction......but it seems it was a strike intended to expose the hidden Akyuu!Chen!! In front, look out!A moment, night sparrow!!
