I know it's all Idolm@ster and Yayoi's fault, but then I'm actually watching Idolm@ster and playing the translation of one of the PSP games and I'm enjoying them a lot more than recent Berserk, as much as I hate to admit it. Fortunately Miura hasn't completely done a Kubo, since he still draws backgrounds (and such good backgrounds too).
IIRC, Kentaro Miura, author of Berserk, became so obssessed with playing Idolm@ster and wwwwwwwww on Niconico douga videos that he put his own series on hiatus just so he could play more, which eventually led him to losing interest in his own work.

Miura was working in his miniseries called: Gigantomakhia, until February.
If he was still as strongly attached to the world he created at the peak of its run, he wouldn’t run off and do a mini-series in between idolmaster and other games. Still chalking this one up to loss of interest or Akamatsu Ken styled “taking a break in search of inspiration”
