In one Japanese version of Rock-Paper-Scissors, played when there's a prize on the line, they place a wash pan and a stick (or toy hammer, or something like that) on the ground between the players.
The winner is supposed to grab the stick and whack the loser on top of the head before the loser can grab the wash pan and guard themselves.
If the loser successfully defends against the hit, the winner can't take the prize, and they play another round of Rock-Paper-Scissors.
Yuugi lost, but screwed up and grabbed the wrong thing.

That happens quite alot especially when you're in a frenzy and don't know which item to grab or us.
Last time i played i played i lost count of how many times i screwed up and how many times i end up using the defender as the weapon. Ahhhh....how fun it was.
