Sorry, I overreacted, it's just that I'm starting to get fed up of new Vocaloids and would prefer if they stayed as a select group of just a few (in my opinion they should have stopped after Gumi, but still made CVO4).
Vocaloid runs a risk of diluting itself and making consumers uninterested in the latest products to come along. See Yuki, Kiyoteru, and the Voiceroids, which merely have uninspired designs, even though the quality is quite good in most cases.
But don't forget that Vocaloid is just software that any company with the means can license from Yamaha to produce its own Vocaloid. Maybe they already have some review process before approving a Vocaloid for the market, I don't know. But if Yamaha would keep a tighter rein on it then those Vocaloids that some see as substandard wouldn't have come along. But as of yet it's really no one's to control since Yamaha doesn't seem to care to heavily restrict the companies producing them.
However, I believe part of the problem lies in the fanbase itself, which frequently attaches more importance to the character personas of the Vocaloids than the software or voice itself. It's they who made the Vocaloid monster what it is, so it's no wonder companies keep trying for the next big one.
And of course it's sometimes these fans who produce even more derivatives and spin-offs than they deride Vocaloid companies for in the first place... and thus they also dilute Vocaloid or contribute to the decline in that way.
As far as Gachapoid goes, it's for kids. It's harmless. Where regular Vocaloid may be too dense for kids to learn about and produce music on, Gachapoid serves their needs. I have no problem with it.

There's this thing called "different companies." Each company is trying to outdo each other, so they make more Vocaloids and try to improve the quality. With Internet Co; their gimmick is that all their Vocaloids have famous voice providers. They have to record the voicebanks when the voice provider can make it in, which can mean they don't always have time in between the releases.
By the way, there will be no CV04. Crypton's next Vocaloid will have nothing to do with the character vocal series.
