Considering female Nanoha already emits potents amounts of GAR its not that surprising.

    Seefic

    MANoha.

    Astana

    He looks like non-smug Rance.

    Byakugan01

Makes sense. Afterall, we're all fucked.

    Shadowlyger

Huh. I don't think I have EVER seen Male!Nanoha before this.

Now I'm imagining what Starlight Breaker adapted for a sword would look like.

... Better question: Does he still "befriend" people with that thing?

And majority fanon would still regard Nanoha-kun and Fate-kun as the OTP. And any picture with Nanoha-kun and Yuuno-chan together will only encite nothing but rage. Because really, Heterosexual pairings were so 90s right?

    You're joking, right Tetsamaru?

Bah. Sarcasm detection fail. But I won't be surprised if there is someone who actually think like that.

I know that's sarcasm, but it's true to a point. "Het Is Ew" is a phrase sometimes used to describe fans who are very anti-heterosexual pairings.

Pretty much. My comment isn't only directed towards MSLN. Its pretty much directed at nearly every other show. I think the whole Yaoi/Yuri movement started becoming more apparant around 2006-07 or something. I mean, it was diffenetly always there, but it just seemed to be getting out of hand later on IMO. Its probably just a Generation gap though. And i mean that both in Age and Anime Marketing. I don't think a show like K-on! would have did very well if it was showed in the 90's and perhaps early 2000s.

Any theory as to why it happens?

Nah, it's been around in force since at least the early 2000s. Remember Gundam Wing?

oh lawl, ya i remember the Yaoi Wars of Gundam Wing. Though as a GW fan, i remember that for every Yaoi fanfic i read, i would equally find a regular hetero fanfic. It may be an artifact that the series was "Pairing up" the pilots with everyone though.

IMO, Yaoi/Yuri fanatics kinda get alot of play-time with series that don't try to pair everyone up. Not that i'm saying it doesnt stop the fanatics from seperating the "established" pairings anyway.

As far as pairings go, a show can go 1 of 3 ways.
1.There is only ever 1 opposite gender in a cast thats dominately 1 gender. Either 1 boy with all girls or 1 girl with all boys. As such, by the end of the series, they're can only be 1 true pairing
2.You get an equal amount of girls and boys, which by the end of the series, even if the show doesnt start pairing the characters together, the fans can and will.
3.Show is dominantely only 1 gender giving fans the only option to go Yaoi/Yuri anyway. Any other character of the opposite gender shown in the series might suffer from an age gap to matter. An example would be Ookiku Furikabutte(Big Windup). The Team manager is pretty much the only Female character that matters, but she suffers a really big age gap from the boys that all your really see is Yaoi fanfics anyway. Not to say you wouldnt see her being paired up with the boys at all. After all, Fanon can do anything. To take the example to K-on, I've seen Ritsu's little brother paired up with the girls every once in a while but the majority of the stories are indeed on the Yuri side. Well, stories that are pairing stories anyway. You can still find normal stories that dont rely on the pairing aspect at all.

Well, seeing that fandom is all about serious business, pairing can overshadow a lot of things. Plus, it can detract from the enjoyment of a series (like an anon had said, in response to Macross F pairing war, "This kind of ship-to-ship combat does not belong on /m/!"). And probably you have heard the expression "I liked [Nanoha] A's back when it hasn't been hijacked by f/u/ndamentalists."

Anyways, Tetsa, I refer to post #243975 for a good Yuuno-chan. Ya think the fandom can be a little accepting for that? :P

Haha, probably. Really though, the whole "Hate" on Yuuno is really more of a western(or rather just not japanese) fanbase thing. If the japanese forums i go to are any indication, there wasnt any hate on Yuuno at all. From what i can tell, Yuuno just didnt "Exist" after the original series. A's already started to downplay his existance.

I was a bit sad that MSLN never got to be the epic crossover of Triangle Hearts and Nanoha like i wanted. But seeing what StrikerS did to the fanbase, i'm starting to be glad my beloved characters didnt get Fan-wanked. Personally, I just don't accept StrikerS for what it is. I honestly read much better Doujin's of the adult cast before StrikrS was made. Don't forget that everyone was shown adult at the end of A's.

Speaking of which, doesn't the uniform remind you of Code Geass's Knight of Rounds' uniform?

Also, what would be a good name for genderswapped Nanoha? Nano-kun?

Someone suggested MANoha, but that's more of a nickname.

I recall a fanfic in ffn.net calling genderswapped Nanoha by the name 'Nanohiko'.

Teen Negi, Griffith, Yondaime, same bunch...same charisma.

    Knave

I normally don't like genderswaps of female characters but somehow I'm OK with this.

This would probably be true. If the entire cast was genderswapped then the fanbase would be full of yaoi fangirls instead of yuri fanboys.
