I'm not actually sure what the problem is in the first strip that it can be solved by calling through Tiko, so it follows that I'm not sure I translated it quite right.
I think maybe they're worried that Riffle's family will either get severely upset and start yelling at whoever is calling, so they give it to the girl who is ultra-obsequious... or they're worried that they will consider whoever calls a kidnapper, so they give it to the girl who would in no way be confused with a violent criminal.
I think it's cause Tiko is friends with Remiss? Tiko calls, asks to talk to Remiss, tells Remiss that Riffle's with them. That way, only Remiss and whoever Remiss tells is in the know.
Riko doesn't really know Riffle's family, so it's not like she can talk to anybody there.
Miko is friends with Riffle, but Riffle's run away from home.
In case anyone is still not clear about why they need Tiko's help, it is because spirits can communicate with each other over a distance through telepathy. Doing so means that no one else in Riffle's house would notice.
