It'd be wonderful if ZUN ever decided to go this route with one of his games, but I doubt he knows much about Native American or Meso and South American myths and religions.
He hasn't even scratched the surface of what he can use from more familiar religions either. And IIRC he's not interested in incorporating that many Western themes anyway. So it's probably a pipe dream.

Zun said Yoshika was inspired in a western-type zombie, so there's hope. Allso, SDM is supposed to be a western-type mansion moved to gensokyo.

She's based off a Chinese zombie, unless you're talking about an interview or something I'm unaware of.

Well...China's west of Japan so...and so is Europe.

Which gives rise to another intersting thought. We Americans keep saying that Japan is 'eastern' when in reality, technically speaking, they're west of us. (The technical rule on east/west is the shortest distance traveled to destination. Although the general scholarly acceptance is based on the [old] flat atlus, where America is as far west as you can get, but the issue with that is that it means that Alaska is east of Washington State. The more you know.)

ZUN has said the reason he used "Shanghai" in his developer's name is because he wanted to pick a place where West and East met.
