The kids are Edward's and Winry's. No offense, but whoever thought the kids belong to Al and Mai are pretty dumb. Neither of them even look like Al or Mai. And it was the ending of the anime. If they wanted us to know they were Al and Mai's kids, wouldn't the PARENTS (Al and Mai) be holding the kids? Not their Uncle (Ed)? Also, they never even showed us if Al and Mai got married, let alone got confess to each other. They did, however, show Ed confessing to Winry and Winry accepting. I could keep on going, but I've already proven my point.

pay attention to the pic in the anime. yes, Ed and Winry where holding both kids, but Al and May were behind them both. And anyway, their hair gives it away, Al has always had darker hair then Ed, and one of the kids had darker hair too. AND before you point it out that its possible for Ed's child to have darker hair, i know, its just not very liekly. and its not a bad thing to have uncle Ed holding Al's kids, it helps show that no matter how many years go by, their bond will never break. and they arent DUMB, because someone else was holding them, that person being the uncle.
Well to anyone who is watching this and still wondering, yes the kids in the last picture of the manga and Brotherhood are Ed and Winry's children.
Furthermore, the official timeline that comes in the FMA Chronicle book says that Winry and Ed married in 1917 and they had many children, so they at least had another child besides the boy and the girl.
