So this is now the oldest ship in the game, right?
Launched March 13, 1899. Participated in every major naval battle of the Russo-Japanese War of 1904–1905 and was lightly damaged during the Battle of the Yellow Sea and the Battle of Tsushima. Succeeded by Mikasa. (according to Wikipedia).
Does Asahi's implementation means they're also going for really old ships in the future? There are quite some WW1 armored cruisers that are still serving in WW2 and being given other roles, such as minelayers (IJN Tokiwa). One of them even go into active duty in early Chinese invasion, participated in Phillipines campaign and even getting fitted to equip seaplanes (IJN Izumo).
Gee, I wonder why That other game gets more players by the day.
Pandering to KMS and ironically IJN because JP is a bigger market than EN on top of softcore porn and releasing shipgirls than are just shipgirls in name does that. Shipgirl market always was a niche market and they knew that. So they distanced themselves for most ww2 naval things related.
The days of Hood with other shipgirls looking like shipgirls and the first campaigns being more based on ww2 are long forgotten.
Now you have paper KMS fodder leading the way on events because why not? German eeginering, and the new shipgirls from other factions that would be forgotten in the next 9 days because they commited three of the most cardinal sins in any gacha, not being Ultra Rare/6stars, not being broken and not appeal enough to coomers. Also AL fandom dont care about small warships. So forget about Johnston, Hoel or Sammy being an UR.
I know KC isnt perfect in many aspects but the feeling of being an Admiral is always there the shipgirls even reinforce that. People just got way too used to gacha games and now anything that doesnt have their tropes is somehow unplayable, outdated or anticonsumer, you know what is anti-consumer? Microtransactions and thank God AL is the least offender in that regard thanks to its generous gacha for now.
KanColle or more specifically Kensuke Tanaka is holding his best cards because is the right choice for the longevity of KC, why releasing Enterprise and other famous ships when you can hold for when the game really needs it?
We have to remember that unlike Manjuu, C2 Kikan still uses history related stuff like Samuel B Roberts(for her new remodel) finding or that Yamato's crane that was used to build her guns(to make another museum collab and raise money to help the museum buy that crane) to not only promote the game but also the history behind those characters.
AL uses surface level naval history to sell T&A. KC uses the concept of the shipgirls from ww2 to share their history and their stories.
Probably the most accurated thing in KC is the way the game portraits the KMS, like the over engineering, outdated and very small force that really was.
AL is kinda disappointing nowadays, I don't mind if we have more franchises as long as I could get to look more ships as anime girls, but now I'm just looking at girls with megazords, I would admit it still cool though but not something I wanted to see for a game about ships as girls. KC might be pretty underwhelming compare to AL but at least still stays true to its niche.
Also, not the biggest fan of loli capital ships.
Lastly about the coomer part, I have nothing to say about that since KC was also guilty when it was starting to gain traction through their damage arts.
Tanaka really DON'T want to release Shinano and Big E, uh?
Ladies and Gentlemen, here we have another guy thinking KC would be better if "that" gets implemented.
Seriously, she will only attract gorilla-chest tumping, butthurt historical 'Muricans and AL trolls.

That "other game" is just full of toxic players and full of morons. They also prefer mainstream history rather than listening to a "revisionist history".

Azur Lane's existance and development is already a disappointment

Huh, I'd thought the KC/AL rivalry had simmered down.
It will never be and it's gonna go on for years as long as these two franchises exists and continues.
