The series overall sucked, and I hated how the first anime slime girl I see was depicted in a horrible way and wasn't used as what a slime girl should be used.

I'm curious. How exactly should a slime girl be used?
Look up Melona's artbook. There are some good examples of personal expression in it that she...didn't really use in the series. She's a shapeshifter and seemed to have a rather pleasant sense of humor in the artbook, but she was just a bad creepy thing in the anime.

Plenty of Anime series have used traditionally ecchi or even sexual based characters and made them mainstream characters simply by cleaning them up somewhat. Manga/Shows like Slayers, CardCaptor Sakura, Pokemon, Ranma, Ghost in the Shell, etc all had themes bordering on the erotic, lesbianism and even incest. But they didn't go overboard, making those themes tongue and cheek or even hinting at their inclusion having multiple meanings (a connection to the story as well as the characters).
Queen's Blade however fits into the more recent Anime trend of just trying to push the boundaries between softcore porn and Anime, and this is why both Melona and the show didn't come off very well. As well as most of the themes and use of sexuality in the show just blatantly used to try to appeal to that market.
Yeah, the artbooks are ecchi, while the series has lots of casual nudity. Probably would have been more enjoyable if the girls managed to or at least tried to remain covered.
Well, think about it, if you're in a fight to the death against somebody with a sword, or mace, or whatever they might have, are you gonna be worried about being exposed, when there's a chance that in a few minutes, you won't have to?

Melona really turned out to be my favourite character. I find the only annoying character to be Elina, who I wish would get her face splattered
