I like to imagine that this takes place in the future, where everyone we know has been resurrected (including others who didn’t make it, ie: Teppei), and Zhongli is the proprietor of the Liyue National Museum of History. Here, he just sidles alongside Kequing who is admiring a statue of Rex Lapis, not knowing that the very god himself is right next to her. She also feels a strange connection with the sword and feather above the statue, like they’re almost…familiar.
