The news if anybody wondered if the rumor about Chrono Cross getting a remake was true: there will be a collab between Another Eden (Gacha game), with the crossover scenario written by Chrono Cross' storywriter Masato Kato, and the music handled by Yasunori Masuda.
Which, doesn't mean much since Another Eden was ALREADY made by the collaboration of the duo and have a similar style of storytelling. People joked that Another Eden was the Chrono Cross sequel that never happened.
Trailer for the collab can be watched here. It's seriously a good trailer, and even if as a time-limited collab this is far better than a 'remake' with how the recent trend the releases has been.
I think what many people were wanting was for Trigger and Cross to get the Pixel Remaster treatment. SE has hinted that this is the plan for many of these games to be brought onto a modern platform in HD, but they want to see if the early sales of the FFPR collection justify doing it for other games. A Chrono Trigger PR version seems like a no-brainer to me, but once you get into the Playstation era games with the rendered backgrounds it might take more work and be less likely to happen.

Gacha game? No thanks. I would rater wait for the remake rather getting baited to spend on another gacha game that I hadn't played yet, but it is good to see Chrono Cross getting it, might hope for Trigger as well. This two games are damn too good.

Doesn't help that the game was a turn-based, 2d flipbook-style graphics. When I looked up the gameplay video my expectation took a jump from stratosphere back to the ocean surface. Art was gorgeous but COME ON, why this is a gacha game? A single player RPG would fit much better.
