Emoji and emoticons have never been well-received on Danbooru. Same goes for inane comments that only tell us how horny the commenter is for the post. There are forum threads from over a decade ago complaining about comments like these (see this and this, among others), and until last year, we had a commenting guidelines page that specifically cautioned against such comments. Those guidelines are no longer official, but dumb comments are still strongly disliked by the fraction of the userbase that favors more serious discussion, and they tend to express that dislike in the form of mass downvotes.

I wasn't aware that there was a thread on this, but I get it, at times comments like that can be aggravating. And despite the flack it gets, this site is a great place to post some awesome works of art.
