I added this to the heart-breaking pool cause the first rabbit seemed to have really wanted to meet the astronaut, but her sisters, from what I can tell... ate him.
That's some very subtle, well-done visual storytelling.

I'm pretty sure the astronaut became one of them. Four rabbits and one astronaut became four blood-stained rabbits and one clean, vaguely confused rabbit — and whatever the process was, it involved a certain amount of gore.

Actually seem to be the case, judging by the odd one isn't really holding hands and it's the only one clean also from the hands.

She's the first rabbit you see in the first pic- there's a tiny heart-of-string in the astronaut's oxygen hose(?) In the second pic, we learn there's more of them- her sisters. They're excited to see the astronaut, with blood around their mouths, but she seems nervous. In the last pic, we learn why- the clean rabbit you see is her, with teardrops floating from her eyes. We learn there's another sister, hinting at a whole tribe of them, and they all seem to be playing Kagome-Kagome (the horror story where... you know what, read up on that. It's a good, intriguing read with certain truths behind it, too).
That's what I meant by subtle. If you're not paying attention, those little details go unnoticed and you, potentially, miss the full understanding of the story.
Side-note: Kagome Kagome last lyric translates to "Who's in front behind you?' (iirc); you'll notice the friend is behind the helmet, but two of her sisters are in front of the helmet with the most blood on their hands.
I've seen these visual stories done before, but not one so very well done. At least, not in recent memory.
