It happened on Mt. Silver at the end of the Pokemon Gold/Silver games.

I still consider Gold and Silver to be the best hand held Pokemon games, especially with Gameshark.

Indeed they should make his selection of pokemon totally random aside from picachu (Or was picachu even an "Red" pokemon? I think it was from Ash, and "Yellow" got the picachu, oh well), or maybe him always be ## lvls bigger than your best pokemon or something like that, its not like its hard to program randomness

There has to be a term (or trope) for moments like these, where the boss happens to be a character you previously built up.

Kinda like I Wanna Be The Guy or that Flash game Flow.

I would like to add that the dialogue from the R/S/E Generation had the statement "The air is tasty here." That can fairly match in epicness to "Hi! I like shorts! They're comfy and easy to wear!"

Real Pokémon trainers don't need gamesharks. We fight with burning passion and brilliant teamwork.

Just a couple more days...

Epic is an understatement.

This was my favorite moment in my favorite Pokémon game (or in any Pokémon game, for that matter).

And don't worry about Red in the remakes: I just fought him in the HeartGold, and he totally kicked my ass! They made the levels of his Pokémon much higher than in the original games, and made him the highest leveled trainer in any Pokémon game. All of his Pokémon were 20-28 levels higher than mine (and I had only 3 trained Pokémon, Red had a full team)!

HE GETS THEM ALL. Definitely tougher than the original game. His line up is more or less the same except for the lapras

No it wasn't.

I can attest to the fact that using gameshark for unlimited potions and ethers improved on the gameplay. For one it cut down on the visits to the pokecenter.

Ummm this battle is so so level 80-88 kanto starters i believe its the same as regular silver and gold snorlax,lapris,pikachu,charizard,blastoise,venasaur you can only verse him each time you beat the e4 and after you beat him once oak lets you get a kanto starter.... although mt. silver is completely redesigned from scratch nothing the same apart from moltres being their i believe
