This made me realize, depending on how often the otters get TPK'ed, it's possible they're falling victim to the same anomaly over and over. Never learning about their past attempts because only the backup otter is left alive, and the backup doesn't know what killed them.

Nice idea however the only flaw in that is that backup otter is a position that gets switched per exploration so the chances of them not knowing or making the general area a danger zone unlikely, however if we are under the impression that the crippled flowered otter in the bed scene was actually backup otter, it is possible that the beds can "revive" you however you lose a big chunk of your memories (and also with the calendar as reference the free apartment aren't a pure safe zone.)

I don't think otters go back to the safe room after every encounter. The backup only assumes they got TPK'ed after a week has passed - that means a single trip can span multiple days. So I think it's likely the otters are exploring tons of different places per trip, and with that many, it's probably not fully pre-planned either. So the backup otter really has no idea where they went until they return. If they return.
Seems in the pictures of the last panel, there are the three otters and someone taller. Possibly a human, but the only one we've seen so far is gachi-oji. Also, the pics are of the last places we've seen, so it seems the otters have previously explored these areas with someone?

That would also imply a fifth person is with them to take the photos.
Left hand is definitely discolored. iirc AOtter used the flower crowbar with her left hand, but she also didn't have much of a left hand at all and her lower arm connected to the crowbar via plant stems.

Don't they have dealings with the human Stalker who explores these ruins too? I seem to recall he had an Otter map.
