Kirishima's the bonus damage ship against Abyssal Dakota? Ido's portraying her in her usual "scary invincible Kirishima" manner? Kirishima sank at Guadalcanal. She and about a half-dozen ships toegether couldn't actually sink Dakota. The Second Naval Battle of Guadalcanal was ultimately a defeat for Japan, with FDR calling it a turning point, so why does it feel like nobody on the Japanese side is acknowledging that?

At least the pocket cruiser has come to Idobase.
They did a fair amount of structural damage and knocked out the fire control systems. This was while South Dakota had experienced a massive electrical failure for unrelated reasons. It was like beating a man in full armored plate after he'd tripped over his own feet.
I don't know if the South Dakota class used the "all or nothing" armor scheme of the North Carolina and Iowa class battleships, but even if it did, I think it'd still have been proof against the 14 inch guns of the Kongo-class.

Every side got bonus damage against abyssal. Think of it is relevancy buffs. Fletcher is among the destroyers that get the highest multiplier there. Dakota also gets bonus against herself.
I wonder if the detail that TTK wonder how they could had fought Lycoris Hime despite her having been captured some times ago is just a gag (do they think that powerful Abyssals are unique) or a foreshadowing of things to come, like a certain shitty Vice-Admiral that could had arranged for her liberation in exchange for some Abyssal technology...
Kirishima Vs. Abyssalized USS Washington rematch forshadowing Win maybe?
That's..Ariake here.I'm Helena.Fine work... wait, Lycoris?Going to be a crab hotpot tonight, then...Nice to meet you!A pleasure! And sent her packing with a pan-paka-paaan!They rescued two POWs during the New Britain Transport Operation. All the special buff shipsWhen did she get behind me!?'
Scary! It's Mr. Crab!Anyway, putting that issue aside...So, what kind of boss will we be up against in E6?We're baaack!
We flushed out Lycoris Hime at Guadacanal,Since she was captured during that attack on the base before, she should have been under watch at HQ...According to the recon fairies, this is what lies ahead...Woah!Well, I was pretty sure that it was Lycoris, but...
