I have to really disagree with the use of the fancy flowery font for some of the text. It really doesn't match the more "desperate" tone of the lines at all.
It would be more at home in a yuri manga than with Reimu freaking out at the idea of Aun being lonely or Marisa in a panic trying to get Reimu to stop waving around some anal beads

It's a display issue. It shows as flowery on mobile, and weird and scraggly (i.e. the intended effect) on desktop. Or, well, any desktop I've used.
A better font system without this issue was introduced at some point, but uh, I forgot how it works.
Just shows as normal italics for me on tablet or desktop. Neither flowery nor scraggly.
I get an all-caps font with big serifs. Maybe try "scary" instead of "serif" for the font family; that's one of the styles now supported natively. @Levander, see what you think of the appearance now.

Oh, that's great. Thanks for sharing! I'm going to get a lot of use out of that. I've... never been fully caught up on the details of the system. It was actually "cursive" though, and not serif (which does make it weird that it's always shown as a scraggly comic sans thing on my machines).
"Scary" isn't the most legible, but it's mostly useful for short and big sentences anyway.
