What's going on in this image? There seems to be someone's head with a sweatdrop in the lower right corner, partially obscured by a translucent bedsheet... Also looks like there's a translucent surface with a transparent stripe in it covering the whole scene (except maybe what seems to be a strip of wood in the lower left).
From what I perceive, that stripe in the middle is part of the bed but transparent so as not to block the girl. There is a guy hiding under the bed being a pervert/voyeur and feeling nervous/awkward. The reason you can see the top of his head through the sheets is so you can tell it's a head and not some random hair or something else.
That's doubtful. The stripe fades away halfway across the image, and anyway she has her legs over the side of the bed. Look at the perspective of the edge of the bed, too - the wood on the left side can't be part of the bed.
I think this bed is similar, if you take away that design in the middle. Don't forget to factor in artist error and miscalculation. As for why it fades out in the middle: the artist simply found it unnecessary to show the other end.
Yeah, probably a mirror. GordonFreeman: the stripe is often used in this kind of art to show that something is a reflection... just a stylistic technique, I guess. Should have caught that.
