Huh. I would think more than anyone else, Yatagarasu would be best suited to training Shin Goji-chan. I mean, it's a bird which represents the largest fusion reactor in the Solar system and a creature that's essentially a runaway nuclear reaction and the consequences thereof, you'd think they'd have good compatibility, not bad compatibility. I had actually pegged the former taking the later under her (literal) wing at some point. Unless this is meant to tie in with how Brown Bear is good with fire and how Goji is more a creature of "This world" than "That world" (Not divine/supernatural).

More like Goji and Yatagarsu are too similar, both can be out of control engines of destruction or divine flames that protect life. Yata would be too strict, trying to control Goji (as she herself strictly keeps herself under wraps) and she realizes that. What Goji needs is a gentle guiding hand. Remember, Godzilla isn't inherently good or evil, just a living force of nature. You don't control nature, you simply live with it.

Normal Godzilla is, but it seems like Goji-chan is much more... well, Friend-ly as a part of the Friending process. Normal Godzilla doesn't even recognize that he's causing collateral damage when stomping whole cities to rubble, but sympathizes with and uses controlled bursts of power to help Beaver rebuild her dam.

That's more a product of being befriended than being Friended. Her first actions were upon meeting another Friend was to attempt to turn Brown Bear's team into grilled meat with extreme prejudice... and then to try and shoot down a flying Friend before getting schooled by (and attempting to fry) Brown Bear again. It actually took them some time to wean her from that habit of shooting at anything airborne. While she's gotten better, she also obviously wasn't really thinking about the collateral damage she ended up causing in her battle royale with the Queen Cerulean. She nearly fried Prairie Dog and Beaver while she was trying to save them, and nearly set the whole forest on fire in the process of killing the Queen Cerulean because of how much firepower she used for the killing blow. Even before that, she didn't really get how fragile her traveling partners were- she seemed genuinely surprised that Beaver and Prairie Dog had been knocked out by the Queen Cerulean's opening strike, which Goji-chan barely even noticed.
It's not that she has become inherently more friendly as a result of being Friended. It's that she has undergone a lot of silent character development since she was introduced. She's no longer so huge that Friends (let alone humans) are as ants to her, so she actually has the chance to interact with them and learn and develop. Let's not forget, Shin Godzilla is by far the largest ever created. Forget ants, humans may as well be dust mites to it. It is also by far also the most mutated and powerful King of Monsters to ever grace the big screen, and constantly in pain at that. Force(Freak) of nature describes it quite well.

While it's certainly true it took some work to get her to be a friend rather than just a monster Friend, it's also undeniable that becoming a Friend makes most animals far more social than they naturally would be. Most animals don't care for others not of their own species a bit, but Friends constantly befriend one another in spite of being wildly different species (and sometimes even predators and prey). Animals like crocodiles are not only solitary and antisocial, they will eat the young of their own species (even their own young) if given a chance, but hey, even a wildebeast or chicken can make friends with a Croc Friend.
Basically, being Friended is a prerequisite for any of that befriending to even happen. Most animals (and probably Shin Godzilla as well) just aren't capable of it before they become Friends.

Which makes her character development even better. She literally turned from an mindless engine of destruction into something much more.
Hopefully they will hand wave that away and the author declare it isn't an issue.
Sandstar solves everything.
It is beyond my ability to guide....But for you, is that really true?Absolutely....That child's spark is itself a flame that wounds as well as warms one who approaches. So that that girl's spark will unerringly be put to use.Thou must teach her how to control her power.
