All I know is if I don't have at least 3 Nishimura fleet destroyers I won't be able to beat this map on hard. It looks like I'll spend a week leveling Michishio and Asagumo/Yamagumo (when I find them) from Lv 1 to at least 60 and hope for the better when I reach E4... or beat that map on normal.

I completed the rest of the event on normal but E-4 Normal... that was a different Story... good luck, fellow admiral, you will need it...
Yeah. Playing through E-4, it's actually easier than it sounds. You just need to think of each phase as a distinct "map" rather than jumbling them together into a single map image. It does turn this supposedly "medium-scale" event into something that has more average sorties per run than some Large-scale events though.

Yeah Z6 in particular could easily be a map all on its own. I feel like that was the worst part of this map, even this LD AbyssShiro refusing to sink is better than that.
The enemy's lineup for Surigao Strait has been determined.Such a cramped sea......and that's how we'll proceed. Is that acceptable?I didn't understand a word!In order to strike the flagship of the enemy fleet, we must first eliminate her escorting fleets and secure air superiority. The relevant nodes are N, U, V, X, and Y.Beware that the deployment areas of regular fleets, Combined Fleets, and Striking Forces differ. For the route to node U, it is recommended to take a Surface Task Force composed solely of fast ships and based on Kurita's fleet. As for V, X, and Y, Shima's fleet is currently making preparations to sortie. We've verified the presence of a substantial number of PT Imp Packs. For weaponry, focus on Skilled Lookouts and machine guns.Under certain conditions, battle will transition into daytime.
With regard to the order of attacks, two rounds of night combat follow after shelling support. If battle transitions to daytime, attacks from land-based air and aerial support come first, after which daytime battle proceeds as usual.*ominous...*It is predicted that afterward more escort fleets will be deployed, and we must eliminate those. You must minimize damage to the land-based air corps. It is probably best to form one wing designated for air defense. The area of operation will be Z1, Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z9. Advancing from Z3 to Z6 will require sufficient reconnaissance capability. Once that is all completed, it will become possible to attack the enemy command fleet.I've marked locations on the chart where night combat is unavoidable. These are A, H, R, T, Y, Z3, Z4, Z7, Z8, Z9, ZZ1, ZZ2, and ZZ3.
