no she isn't. black rock shooter is huke's original character. and it got popular from that vocaloid music video. people just assume it's miku because of the resemblance, and the use in the music video that had miku's voice.
I think huke originally made her as being brs, but the lyrics talk sing about black rock shooter in the second person. (Of course, that's only a problem if we assume that the voice singing the song is brs.)
Ok I hope this might end the name thing but I used a page translation on the site and it shows "Black ★ ROKKUSHUTA" for this character "Black ★ DEBIGARU" for the horned girl and "Black ★ MATAGI" for another girl so I'm guessing her name is Rokkushuta or Rockshooter and the black before it well I dunno about that.
I read somewhere that Miku was supposed to be the "actor" in Black Rock Shooter. She isnt actually BRS, as in like an alternate form or personality, but as a movie-star (or an anime-star in her case).
Miku is kinda treated like a real life JPop-star now, what with all her CDs, music, merchandise, popularity, etc. She is basically a celebrity, so, from what I had read, was that they (BRS creator people) decided to pursue this fandom and make her be an anime character (not from any actual anime though) "acting" in an anime. Kinda like how in RL, a singer/musician might act in a movie as a character other than themselves (ex: Jessica Simpson in "The Dukes of Hazard").
So, if this is true, then it would make perfect sense to label BRS images with the "Miku_Hatsune" tag. Even if it isnt true, this explanation is kinda fun, because it makes reality out of those SciFi shows/animes where a computer-generated, artificially intelligent computer program becomes a major celebrity, even though she isnt real!!!! :)
