As true as that may be, I wouldn't put my time and money to a (Chinese) ripoff that probably is yet another short lived cash in to anything successful.

To be fair, who knows. Kancolle was initially supposed to be one or two season cash grab too, before it become exploding success and drag on for so long.
Fun game by the way, more engaging and less frustrating than Kancolle, having played both.
Could go a different direction. Maybe try other stuff than shipgirls. Probably should follow the shining example of Touken Ranbu. Essentially a KanColle ripoff, but gets much less shit than, say, Zhan Jian Shao Nyu got. A couple hiragana do help though. Seeing that the original cash grab is in Japanese, people are much more tolerant to Japanese ripoff than non-Japanese ripoff.
That's the other thing. It's easier to remember borrowed words to romaji or katakana than random f**kin long chains of monosyllables which apparently all end in "n" or "g". It's annoying as hell because it's a higher level of language barrier and not enjoyable.

To people like me with no knowledge of foreign languages, it's all the same whether it's Japanese or Chinese.

That's not true of Warship Girls or Girls Frontline, so uh...
Seeing this a year after the last comment with a smug cause the game is now probs more popular than Kancolle, got an English version, an anime announced and a PS4 game

4 years later and AL is still going strong with no signs of slowing.

Pretty funny to read this comment years later. AL is now one of the most successful gacha game on the market, while KanColle is but a shadow of its former self.
