...Wait, does it still count as anthropomorphism when a ship literally turns into a shipgirl and speaks like a normal human?
I mean, for the residents of Kancolle universe, don't they think everything is 'real' rather than some sort of 'Japan's fictional anthropomorphism' :v?
They probably talk about Gijinka (personification).
Personificationed warships talk about personification... Whoa.
It wasn't until the last bubble that I actually stopped to realize the irony there... I've become too used to KanColle when I stop even recognizing them as historical ships unless it's specifically a historical series.
...Wait, does it still count as anthropomorphism when a ship literally turns into a shipgirl and speaks like a normal human?
There was this visual novel / anime where all kinds of modern-day appliances -- from cell phones to refrigerators -- spontaneously gained human form overnight. I'd say it counts as anthropomorphism; a spectrum of practically infinite degrees where "How anthropomorphized is X?" is more relevant than "Is X anthropomorphized?".
You don't have to anthropomorhpise something to make its R34
True, I'll give you that.
R34 just covers everything else that hasn't been anthropomorphized in the non-sexual sense.
...I think we also have an anthropomorphized R34 itself. //cue "Does a set of itself contain itself" dilemma.
Right, so...but aside from that there are lots of anthropomorphized animals in it.It appears that the animation "Kemono Friends" is all the rage these days.
She uses 'animation' instead of 'anime'Friend? It's Japan's forte!!Dear me... Impressive! Japan sure is!!Recently they also did that with countries, castles, swords... Japan's world-renowned for being able to anthropomorphize anything! So nee-sama is a Friend late to the trend. What kind of animation is it?Well, sorry for being behind the times! That's okay, different Friends are good at different things after all.Non-humans are given human traits and personalities. It's about a girl who loses her memories, and embarks on a journey to find out her identity,What's 'anthropomorphized'?
