I loved 2 (aka Secret of Mana) back in the day. Not only was it a great game, but it was two player! Oh the fights that were avoided thanks to that single feature lol
I was the main dude/tank. My little sister bounced back and forth between princess and sprite depending on the situation. That game just did so much right. Especially in a sibling scenario.

That's even more awesome. There was only two of us so we didn't know... Although it certainly makes sense since she could freely swap back and forth between the 3rd character. Must have needed some kind of adapter though since the system only had two plug-ins...
Wait. Did Super Mario Cart support four (with some kind of adapter)? I can't quite remember. I know the N64 version most certainly did, but I can't quite remember SNES too well. I've slept and drank since then.
Super Mario Kart was conceived as a two player F-Zero. For that they had to slow down the speed (hence the Kart theme) in order for the console to process a split screen. I'm fairly sure they couldn't do 4 player even if they wanted.

Yeah, with a Super Multitap. I had one and do remember doing three-player at least once.
