...Well. I'm guessing Marisa did permanent damage to Hecatia. Either that or she's been hiding that the whole time. We'll have to wait for translation to see.
But she's bordering Suwako levels of creepy with that smile of hers...

Bitch made her kill her Reimu. If Marisa hadn't done it, Yukari probably would've, and I don't think Heca would still have a neck in that case.

ZUN said Hecatia is more powerful than anybody in gensokyo and that includes Yukari. Also, is pretty obvious the super magicians already nuked Yukari by before hecatia pushed the reset button anyway.

That still leaves the Great Dragon. Given what little we know of it, this is the sort of "can't make things worse" scenario where it could return and clean house in person. I don't see even Heca walking away from that one.

Is not that dragon currenly a baby chilling in the heavens and won't be "god level" for 1000 years?
Hold up, Ryuujin's a baby? That one's news to me. You sure you're not thinking of Kasen's pet dragon?
Maybe he's talking about the evil dragon in FS, which is a completely different individual. The Dragon God is already a God and obviously an ancient being. Assuming it is THE Ryuujin, it would be older than the Watatsuki.
About ZUN's statement about Hecatia, i wonder if he meant the whole of Gensokyo and the Lunar Capital, or only the known characters that already appeared?

Then if the witches somehow killed Eirin and Kaguya while they were harvesting people (how would they even do that is anyone's guess), and Yori and Toyo found out... Ryuujin might be the least of Hecatia's problems. He'd simply eat her. The sisters would probably humiliate her before killing her.
ZUN:Since she's an enemy that doesn't play by the rules, you can't even call it a proper match. It's just playing around. She's completely past the level of anyone in Gensokyo or the Lunar Capital.
That's the only thing on the matter that i know of.
That, however, still leaves Ryuujin. And given the state that Gensokyo was in by the end of things, showing up in his full sun-blotting, sky-covering, natural disaster-spawning glory to chomp Hecatia in half would not have made things much worse, especially if Yukari (who is probably the most likely person to be acting as his earthly proxy) is already dead and can't fix things herself.

She DID say she's dealt with "those kind of humans" before. Wonder how many times she's "died"?
Just to be clear, that translation is questionable at best. I've had six different Native Japanese ESL people disagree with it and tell me the Zun was specifically talking about the actual fight that takes place in LoLK, not Hecatia herself. Which is to say, the Heroines were in the most danger there - as Hecatia listened to no rules but her own and was out to kill the heroines (apparently made impossible by plot reasons).

I'm probably misunderstanding something here, but what would "She's completely past the level of anyone in Gensokyo or the Lunar Capital. (幻想郷とか月の都とかいうレベルを完全に超えている.) mean, according to them? I've seen jap artists, including zounose here, refering to her as the confirmed most powerful known entity.
Funny the other time when i read about the venom pot was in a resident evil manga; and like in that one everyone forgets that the surviving insect will go Kratos on you when released.

One of the aforementioned ESL Japanese people said:
Re: the interview translation What you have linked to me, I question the translation. While it certainly /can/ be translated the way they have done it, I personally feel as if it has managed to lose context with the paragraph. The way I would personally translate the paragraph is: 'Because she is such a dastardly (cheating) enemy, (you, the player) have not yet reached the point where (you) can win (against her). She's playing (with you). It (the context being the cheating or playing) completely exceeds anything (you have) seen in Gensokyo or the Moon Capital.' This does not actually say that Hecatia is the strongest character revealed in the Touhou lore, it is in fact ambiguous on that. It is merely the level of challenge presented is the highest so far, because she is cheating. I feel it is worth the effort to point out Hecatia and Junko both admitted to actually trying to kill the player character in their dialog, in a setting that it is clearly established that rules exist specifically to prevent certain people from getting killed. It should be obvious that Hecatia is cheating.
Thanks for that. First time in nearly 2 years that i see someone questioning that particular statement. I think Hecatia's "Goddess of Hell" status evokes such a strong imagery of power that nearly everyone accepted it that way.

I wouldn't look to deep into this and simply use it as confirmation that Hecatia is indeed the most powerful character in the series so far.
This is the Eiki vs. Reimu, Yukari, and Yuyuko debate all over again...
Thinking aloud, but regardless of who is the strongest, she's still up there in terms of hard to kill. Her power is rather vague too. Her "core" is still in Hell, while the 3 "extra bodies" we've seen haven't even been her real body. Would doing damage to them (the extra bodies) even hurt the real body? Can she spawn another extra body with ease? It makes me rather curious.
Alternative Facts in Eastern Utopia confirmed that she's a complete monster. She's so powerful that nobody dares to mess with her, and Gensokyo would be safe if she watches over it because of that.
[Alterations of what was actually stated, taken out of context and warped to fit his/her view.]
We realize that you are taking it upon yourself to be the Hecatia Internet Defense Force, but that is neither necessary or looked highly upon in this neck of the woods. Yes, she essentially said that nobody in hell would do anything to Gensokyo so long as she was affiliated with Gensokyo because they didn't want to mess with her. That part of what you said is true. You leave out, however, firstly that the statement only applied to beings/powers currently residing in hell; and secondly the part where she handwaved at an entire class of beings called Gods/Goddesses in Hell that had absolute power and therefore absolute freedom - that 'doesn't want to mess with' effect goes both ways. Absolute power is absolute, when two entities with absolute power clash both are destroyed - that is MAD in a nutshell, and Zun has touched on this topic before so it's not like this is unexplored territory for him.
And, most importantly, let's not forget that Zun is a troll, but not only just troll, but a very calculated troll that will set up a 7+ year prank and pull it off to perfection after everyone had forgotten about the groundwork. Zun has a long history of ambiguous statements and non-answers-that-seem-like-answers, which makes EVERYTHING he says need to be taken ambiguously - he may pull the carpet out from under the fan base and have Rumia of all characters go ham on Hecatia if he so wants to - he intentionally set the stage for that a LONG time ago.
I can say the same for Naysayer Defense Forces like you. ZUN is a troll? More like people who misinterpret what he says and are salty that their fanon portrayals aren't canon. Such people are the real trolls.

Given how much everything in that book seems intent on pushing buttons, plus the fact that it was drawn and written by fanwork people and not Zun himself... I don't think this is the best document to base your information on.

The articles are written by ZUN. Now, there's still the fact that Hecatia was talking about herself so it's obviously biased in her favor, but that's not the point here.
