*Insert rant of irritation at Japan being too dumb to give up earlier IRL than that point here... combined with irritation that the madness wasn't taken to its finish, which would have fixed Japanese immigration agency (only Japanese-fathered children can become citizens) AND forced an earlier counterpart to Rwanda, one of the most gender-equal societies in Africa for the simple fact that post-1994 the male population was so low that females had to step into government and the younger generations grew up used to that.
So instead of giving them the Admiral's explanation(i assume that's who was speaking in the 3rd panel), she gives them another reason(food). And it worked. xD
The strait might big enough to let the Submarine pass but not forget that the depth maybe not, they might have to surface and then being easy target for enemy plane to attack.
Well, there are two ways this can be "not as bad".
A) It's pretty bloody obvious that the US Navy has had trouble getting their shipgirls since they wouldn't have asked the Japanese to recover Saratoga otherwise. If they come back, like: the entire US Navy from the war, the Abyssals are straight up screwed.
B) Abyssals are incredibly picky about when they engage the shipgirls so taking the direct route will cause them to say "OMG! NOT HISTORICAL! I'M OUT!" and then come back when the shipgirls leave to continue their reign of terror.

What do you mean? Americans have been playing the whole time. They just mostly use IJN ships because they're implemented, and USN ships aren't. Also, even if the whole USN is implemented, it wouldn't make much difference, because you can only send 6 (or 12 with a combined fleet) ships out at a time, and the naval bases have limited slots.
I think the B option is far closer to the truth, and also explains why going off on a compass route will mean you can't fight a boss. "WHAT?! You took a different path? SCREW THIS, I'M OUT! I'm not fighting until you go home and restart the path from the beginning!"

Considering the abyssals field more carriers and other such capital ships than the USN ever had, you can't just assume that. (Yes I know that's game mechanics but still. Think about how many carriers they have in a single event) For all we know their forces are larger than all of humanity's navies in the world.

Those could technically be the same carriers that just refloat and fight you again. After all, ships in real life didn't necessarily keep firing until 0 hp and the ships explode or sink in seconds like in video games. There are many cases of ships the enemy thought were "sunk" came back and kept fighting. (Yorktown, Enterprise, Aoba...)

Or you know since by many indications their are Abyss versions of existing ship girls the US is actually engaged in the mother of all battles with the Abyssal USN which is the size of every other Abyssal fleet combined (as the USN itself was at the end of the war) and the pittance of ships it sends Japan's way is a good will thing.

Abyssal shipgirls are generally ships that sank during the war, though. There are a couple target practice ships (including Saratoga) in the mix, but generally, it's a factor of what was actually lost during the war, with ships that got to scrapping (like Ushio, Hibiki, or Yukikaze) not having an abyssal form.
... This would mean the Atlantic is probably chock-full of Wa-class transports and whichever represents a U-boat, but probably that there aren't that many battleships.

Except that the only Abyssal American ships that have shown up have been incredibly vindictive. Arizona for the attack on Pearl Harbor and Saratoga for Operation Crossroads. The "goodwill" aspect has to be taken in light of what other nations have sent to Japan for goodwill. The Germans did send a good portion of their surface fleet but that wasn't really the focus of the Kriegsmarine during the war what with only a handful of capital ships and U-boats outnumbering Fletchers. Italians also, good portion of their surface fleet but one has to wonder how much of the Abyssal burden they're really shouldering in the Atlantic theater given that Italy has been the runt of the European litter ever since the turn of the century and possibly even before. The Brits decision to send their most distinguished Battleship seems heavily based in propaganda and not really on actual force enhancement especially since there are plenty more where she came from. The Frenchies sending an auxiliary is almost a cop-out.
America not only sending one of the most experienced Battleships in the entire world over but also effectively saying, "If you recover one of our carriers, you'll get to keep her," almost smacks of desperation. And by "desperation" I mean "desperately trying to sortie with a decent bloody Task Force FFS".

I get the feeling it sounds like the US Coast and the North Atlantic Oceans have been compromised.
Plus are we like getting closer to going to US shores as the events keep happening. We went to Pearl Harbor, now we went to Ulithi atoll. Kancolle Kai has the Canal Princess, whom may be the Spring Event's next boss. Which may take place at

If Saratoga's an "if you recover her, you get to keep her," then why isn't Commandant Teste? They were both abyssals you have to "purify".
I mean, seriously, we all know the reason Iowa, Saratoga, and Warspite are in the game first is just because they are some of the most famous ships (barring the still bafflingly absent Enterprise), and any speculation of the situation based on what ships have been added for anything other than meta reasons is pulling story out of our asses.
For that matter, if you want to say someone is screwed or "compromised", wouldn't the presence of installation bosses like Anchorage Hime, who is ON THE AUSTRALIAN MAINLAND, but requires attack by sea be the real indicators of a problem?
I recall hearing that the event text for the final map in Iowa's event said that we basically did a smash and grab to recover Iowa and the Abyssal presence in Pearl Harbor hadn't been completely eliminated. Or something like that.

Yeah, but some events have had like a dozen Wos at once. Shit's crazy when you think about it.
Yesyeeees!
Nagato-san!
Questiooooon! What is it?As it is only submarines that are sortieing, I'll leave it to you.Yeees!OPERATION ROUTEAbout that...I see!Certainly! The nikujaga is famous too! There's no choice but to do the Kyushu-circling route.KANMON STRAITSThe operation route is waaaaay roundabout! Why is it if we're coming from Kure and going to Maizuru that we can't just go through the Shimonoseiki bit? That's the truth, yeah! And that concludes the operation outline. And the overland is frequented with bombing runs, so it's out of the question also. The Kanmon Straits are blockaded with mines - looks like we can't use it.If you take the long way round, then you'll get all hungry and Maizuru's famous seafood will be awesome, right!
