Whoa, that character design and an American ship that isn't a stereotype. Why do these Kantai Collection rip offs do a much better job than Kantai Collection? This and the Chinese one have for the most part, amazing character designs.

Honestly, I kind of prefer it when the clothes look a little more like something an actual human might wear, and the equipment isn't so violently shattering suspension of disbelief. (Why does she have an upside-down runway with an elevator included?)
While there are some bad KC designs, like Akitsushima's "let's make a conservative-looking jacket with no armpits for some bizarre reason so we can hint at sideboob; then, let's give her a side ponytail, but then also a ridiculous anchor-ribbon to make it kind of look like a twintail where one half is mint green, and generally muddle up her design with a flood of contrasting details.
Character designs like the Kongous and Shoukakus are good examples of the right level of detail and outfits that can serve as fetish material without being patently ridiculous.
