I'm not holding my breath. Entertainment in US is pretty terrible. For some reason generally we just suck at anime style be it plot or art. Something about our genes or something... At least the game is fun.

It basically comes down to people who know or care nothing about entertainment, but all about moneymaking-- like advertisers and investors-- overriding all the writers and the artists and the executives who actually give a crap. So, business as usual.

I don't think it is the money. I mean, even the string pullers want their investment to be a success and likable to the point a sequel is possible. Investors love to have a tried and true winning pick they can milk until dry *cough* fatesaberface *cough*. I think it is more the taste of the people developing the movie. I don't know what to call it but its like you can see what they are trying to go for, but the execution is just horrendous sometimes.
Anyways, I hope I am wrong. Personally I am not a big fan of the series (I think it was impressive in it's day, but the plot never appealed that much to me), but the game revived a little bit of appreciation for the series (yeah I know, real fans are going to crucify me) so I want this to be a hit... but I have doubts.

Tell that to the guys that made Dragonball Evolution. And if you honestly expect me to be believe that the producers actually liked said series, the that's a crap ton of fuck ups that were allowed into the final movie. I honestly don't have much hope for this movie.

I don't think they liked or knew the series, but they do want to make a movie that will draw in people and make a name/money for themselves. That is what I am saying about poor execution. I'm sure in their minds before they released it they thought they did a good job, might even say better than anyone else could. The whole loving your own work kind of thing.
