It's a weird bit of weather, for sure, but not unnatural. I've seen it in Florida, where you'd have torrential downpour in one spot and perfectly clear weather not even 500 meters away.

I live in long and narrow city. Industrial areas at north and south ends of city are suffering from drought while living areas at center are suffering from hurricane and flood due to downpour. Also, at some spots there is low chances for rain, despite obvious purple clouds - deep quarries within city are creating sort of air bags that lowers air pressure and clouds can't properly condence into rain. If it rains there - it rains everywhere.
Poll: Sort of Diamond Dust or Snow out of the Blue. It happened under clear sky and sun was shining bright. Then there was snow under sun rays. Why it was strange? It was during warm spring, when earth is already green (around April).
• Sunshine shower Not a common phenomenon, but I have seen it here for like 3-4 times in my life. It was bright and sunny, no dark clouds whatsoever, and yet it's raining for some reason.

I've had that happen to me three times this summer.
That's because in Britain, at the edge of the rain is just more rain.
Would you believe Lay's (under their subsidiary Walkers) held a rain prediction contest back in 2010 in England? 10 quid payout for a minimum 'bet' of 40p (smallest packet of crisps/chips) too, what were they thinking.
Needless to say, they were hemorrhaging money during the ill-advised promotion campaign.
Logic insists there has to be an edge to rain --- yet despite living in Britain, I've never seen it.
Witnessed the 'edge of rain' many times in my hometown, the perks of a mountainous area.

It's somewhat common in my area, every year you have a chance of that. South of Brazil, by the way.
