Japs and Germans what were you expecting, though the Japs tend to be half hour early
Yup. My grandfather ran his business coming an hour early and sometimes closing an hour after closing time. Not a single sale would pass him by! His accountant came an hour early though. Such discipline!
Actually, that was Italian Fascist propaganda. Most of the upgrades made to the rail system was initiated by the previous government, and they were still late all the time.
Love how this site has a zero racism tolerance policy, yet this hasn't been downboated yet.
Calling people who they are is not racism. Japs is short hand for Japanese, a nickname if you will. We aren't calling them chinks or yellow bellies, and no one gets up in arms when we call southerners hillbillies or rednecks or Americans Yankees (in part because those names are badges of honor in our culture where we take insults and drinking songs and make them national icons). The internet is not for thin skin. Sarcasm, trolls, and many keks will be had at the expense of pride.
And I say this genetically as an Japanese/Chinese asian mutt myself. Although I consider myself American first and only.

They are only late until you reschedule their time of arrival to when they normally show up every day. Then they are no longer late.

Really? I knew about Yankees but I always though hillbillies and rednecks were insults to southerners. Same happens to the word "gringo", it used to be a derogatory term for American citizens but now it's a common term without offense to them... or at least that how I think it is here, some sources and regions still handle the word as a derogatory term today.
By the way, I received your PM, I just need time to digest and reply to your long wall of text after the event ends.
I think it is like with nigger, how you use it determines the intent. Among southerners, being called a redneck usually points to someones expedient engineering capabilities, leading to Russian crude but functional means of solving a problem. At least, that is my perspective. We have plenty of pseudo southerners here in the west too though. I guess it all kind of falls under a sarcastic derogatory term among friends. I call my mexican friends beaners, and they call my white friends gringos. We aren't strangers to the greeting.
I also found it very ironic Huey considered Jap racist, but doesn't think much of his anti-white comments he has been leaving. I guess from his perspective this may seem like a double standard against him, but my whole point is that unless deliberate malice is intended, things should be taken in strides and sensitivity just spurs more racial/stereotypical tension. I mean heck, slavery ended decades ago yet the war between blacks and whites rage on because people can't stop keeping tabs on each other.
Don't worry about the PM. Respond if you want or don't, and take however long you want. Good luck on the event.

No, I'm just baffled by the whole double standard of having to walk on eggshells when it comes to brown people, but when it comes to Japanese and to an extent, East Asians, open racism is tolerated. How many times have you heard of "Asian small penis" joke and everyone just brushes it off? What if I mention blackface just because? I would've been beaten up. See the difference?

I can definitely agree with that. Personally though, the way I handle any "racism" is to ignore it. If I respond to someone negatively, it is due to the context of hostility not the "racism" since stereotypes can be used to make people laugh or invite them to the back of the bar for some slugging. The more we focus on "leveling" the playing the field the more we just rip the field apart.
I thank God that the "asian power" movement never got traction because I think if we made a big deal about race, we would be equally as controversial as the blacks have have our stereotypes embedded into our daily lives. I mean, if we are totally honest, true racism doesn't really exist anymore. A black person has equal employment opportunities as a brown, white, yellow, purple, indigo, etc. person. Those who complain about one's race as the reason for a personal failure is not helping anyone. Sure, someone might not hire me for a plain clothes surveillance job in Ireland because I am Asian through and through. No problem, It is my responsibility to find another opportunity for employment. In the end we are all equal and united as Americans (or whatever country you reside).
Well, the sting of it lessens when the one throwing around the racist term is the person of that race itself. (I'm Asian, by the way.)
Self-deprecation and semantic satiation can desensitize the person to racial slurs, though I would say it's a subjective matter. I also tend to throw around racist terms against my fellow countrymen who are particularly... troublesome. Though that usually happens under extreme duress and the person in question is exceedingly shitty.
Hurry up—Both Akaagi and Graf are too punctual~*giggle*
