Yeah I've noticed the large number of Japanese themed restaurants over there too. For fast food, my go to choices are "Café de Coral" (大家樂), "Fairwood" (大快活) or "Ocean Empire" (海皇粥店). Or if I'm with relatives and feeling brave, any smaller family owned outlet.

I prefer Fairwood to Cafe de Coral, although their prices have gone up quite a bit in the last 8 years. Granted, Cafe de Coral has also raised its rates by quite a bit, but they're not as quick to do so.
But a dai pai dong is usually my first choice, when available.

Granted Fairwood do seem to have slightly more varied stuff at least when I went there. The Dai Pai Dong is a problem for me as I can't read Chinese although I can speak some Cantonese. Which is why I would need to go with a relative to make out what the menu says! XD

I know what most of them usually carry, so I'm safe. Plus, I tend to order the specials if my usual standby items aren't available.
We've got a bunch of others, too!Well, what shall we have for lunch?
