Phew, glad that the design is not atrocious like Bismarck, Prinz Eugen, and especially Z1 and Z3. Yes, I call them atrocious, I don't like Shimada Fumikane's design for some reason (except for Taihou and U-511, they're awesome). Downvote this post as you like~

Downvoted because of missing verb. Also "don't really like" doesn't sound like "atrocious" to me~

I hate Shibafu's art style and his designs. Its both Kancolle's strength and weakness by employing multiple artist for it's game.

Heh, in contrast, Shibafu is one of my favorite artists. Well, honestly, I prefer the shipgirls to be modest or at least not shameless (Shimakaze, Yukikaze, etc, I fucking look at you all).
So it's mostly a preference in response to the mainstream taste (that seems to love fan service and those fetish) rather than the characters themselves ?
I'm not so bothered by the costume showing skins because they can be "re-imagined" by other artists. Pulling out the variation and distinct feature of characters design, and finding a nice to look mix is then more important for the original design. Personal opinion.

Well, appearance is one important aspect of a person, right? I don't know what her character is going to be, so no comment for that.

Hey, I have the same opinion as you. Maybe I hate the original designs, but fanartist could just 'improve' their designs to suit my taste or at least not make me cursing everytime I see them. For instance, I've seen Yukikaze with default Kagerou uniform (like Kagerou, Shiranui, Kuroshio) and the length of her oversized shirt which is longer than the fucking original design. Also, Shimakaze's skirt which is longer than the original.
White, all white, why so white? Her face is too pale, it looks like she has some blood problems or is a Japanese woman ghost. Her damaged art is more lively, though. At least, we could see that flush on her damaged face.
What I want to know is what will she fly? I presume she's going to force the introduction of German aircraft, but it's not like Germany seriously produced carrier aircraft. (There were, according to Wikipedia, about 14 torpedo bomber biplanes produced before they gave up... And her complement was supposed to be 20 of them...)
As we discussed, I don't think he cares really on working on KanColle. He's more happy (style wise) when working on SW related mecha musume...
Most of the characters he make usually look like rejected designs from Strike Witches. That and him being the only few well renown and actual professional artist in the game, it's pretty disappointing when he dish out mediocre.
If he's not going to give a shit, why should we care or like it. At this rate, he might as well go make Yuugumo or Kagerou classes then since he'll have to dish put a bunch of them but not really have to give much thought into it since nobody really care about those classes. He'll probably get paid more too if it's paid based on illustration.

She got Bf 109T-1 and Fw 109T-1 as her stock equipments, both of which were planned as carrier-borne fighters alongside the Ju 87C (which is already in-game). Luftwaffe pilot were training to operate from her, but she never received her air complement (similar to the Unryuu Sisters).

But it could be worst really.
Of the ones he's made, I think the one he did the best on would be Taihou and possibly Prinz. I dunno what it is about the dessies, Bisko, and Yuu/Ro, but I don't see much enthusiasm from him with the rest. I can't explain it, but it's that 'fizz' factor that's missing.

Yeah, that's what hits me the most, he made (and still makes) so many really good drawings with damn good characters, but for this it feels like the passion is missing.
Like Jusu wrote, Taihou was probably the only one that was up to the standart he set for everyone and himself. Prinz Eugen comes somewhat close to it, but there's already a feeling to her that's somewhat "off". The others are just... wow... this is Fumikane? As in.. THE Fumikane? What happened?
Like... compare the Kantai Collection artworks he drew to the old stuff or the SW stuff he drew. People can't tell me there isn't a visible difference in them.

There never was a FW190T, if carriers had been a focus to the german r&d there 100% would've been one, but irl they never even considered it.
Prinz? One of the best? Fucking really? Oh, so you like a girl with nice butt, huh
I'm meh with Yuu/Ro. I love Yuu, and it ignites this feeling of 'I've got to protect her' in the same way I feel over Akatsuki, but not as strongly. Prinz to me, when compared to Z1, Z3, and Bismarck, seemed better looking. She looks a bit more confident apart from Max and doesn't have this awkwardness that Bismarck and Max shows. Ro to me feels forced, someone who is completely different from what they were. I just didn't like her design.
As for Prinz, I honestly don't notice her aft end. All of this comes from their faces and expressions and overall really. But then, I can't exactly explain the 'fizz', or why I like a character. I just do. I consider Taihou and Prinz to be close to what I consider 'Fumikane'. But if you want to believe I only like her and rated her above Lorelei because of her ass, then that's your opinion.
There are like +150 different kanmusus in the game. You can choose one and let there be diversity instead of complaining about appearances. Same for Kai Ni designs, you can simply skip the remodel and let life go on.
Flash news, your opinion won't change other's people preferences. Don't be an autistic pain shoving likings into others.
Well, if we're having an argument about design, it doesn't seem like anyone's mentioned yet that this is the first carrier to NOT have some sort of older-fashioned tool that projects aircraft. I honestly expected the British and German carriers to show up with ballistas and trebuchets...
I guess Nazi überträgers have no need for inferior history...
Loosing your shit over someone stating his/her preference is sincerely disgusting and sad.
It's just at the part where the whole character design is dissed just because it has too much fan service like big breasts or showing butts or extra mini skirts.
Jusu, Keo and Peo for example have their reason by judging the character design and the artist's other works. Not just disliking them because they're "made for horny guys" (not quoting)

Used search comment. Helps to bring notice to the considerate peoples who use No Bump on old posts :)
I think she's cute and her design is evocative of what you might call German efficiency. Muted colors, understated pose, reserved expression.
Then again, I think all of the German ships are great.
It's one thing I like about German culture in general. That and the thing about not engaging in small talk and the perception that Germans are blunt-as-hammers.

You'd probably like Russians too. They think smiling at strangers is incredibly rude.
So... am I like of the small majority that actually likes her design? She looks pretty damn cool.
Well given that the majority will always be people who don't say anything at all, it's always hard to really say. Just because people are vocal doesn't necessarily mean they represent the majority. If anything vocal members tend to represent a bias outlook on a subject, usually those who either really like something or really hate something. Those who are in-between generally have less motivation to express their opinion.
For what it is worth, I like her, but I can't say that my interests necessarily align with the mainstream.

Question, have you ever been to Germany? Not even Bayern is befitting those stereotypes, and that's the most conservative place here.

Are we talking about at-work Germans or after-work Germans?
Far as I know, Germans take both work and recreation very seriously, so you will see two faces on the same German depending on whether you found him at work or you found him when he is having a holiday.
I do, it was a greatful experience. Heckle even talking to them is fun too. But of course they are hardworking and down to full effeciently.

Depends on the situation I guess, at work when working with people we don't know yet we usually tend to prefer rather neutral actions. But once we get to know people it's usually all shenanigans and less serious business "As long as the work gets done" attitude.
Hence why I usually thaw up easier to skip the tiresome "testing of the waters".
Maybe it's just confirmation bias because I live here, but usually we only work hard when we can gain more free time or money by doing so... we're good at looking busy at work though, atleast those people I know...

Not exactly rude. When some complete stranger is smiling at you for no obvious reason it's usually means that you either look funny or that he wants something from you. In Russia you should set the friendly mood first and only then you can smile (normal smile, not this toothy grin Westerners use). If you refer to salespersons in stores and service sector in general, they're not supposed to smile at all. They are supposed to look business-like.
Since my post two years ago. Graf has decided she didn't want to be in an Admiralty that judged her on looks and has sent countless rare ships at me at E7 node U.
