The tip usually isn't sharp enough to pierce through the skin so although it still hurts, it should be fine. ...Right?
If experience serves me right, those pen designs CAN in fact, pierce through your skin AND it will hurt like hell. But I have yet to produce laser whenever it happens.
That's not a pen, it's a mechanical pencil. See the 0.5 on the end with the push button. And yes, they can be sharp enough to break skin, especially if the lead chipped.

Heck yeah they can. In elementary/primary school we used to rub their tips on paper at a 45deg angle to make a nasty point then wield them as weapons at each other.
Safety scissors everywhere yet everyone could be stabbed to death with pencils.

Fixing tags.

Pen can pierce it if you put enough pressure on it. While not as likely as a mechanical pencil if you press on pens, as well as the certain sharper ones, it can go right through.
Mechanical pencils are pretty dangerous if you're use to spinning it while you think. Once I was twirling it too close to my face and got cut by it when it spun it back to write something. It wasn't a serious cut or anything but it did leave a mark and hurt like hell.
That being said, Muppo might just become a super saiyan with this.
