So many anti air practices can help you shoot down flies with bare hands shot rubber bands apparently.
Given what they had to practice AA with i.e the incredibly bad 25mm mounts with their massive 16 rounds per gun but a RoF of 200+ rounds/minute that had to be manually aimed and reloaded and excellent 10cm HA guns with a fairly decent AA director which made them quite scary....when aircraft were polite enough to fly low enough to hit, I'd say they've pretty much reached AA enlightenment allowing them to hit anything flying with anything they can launch at it x.x /runonsentence

I always thought that shipgirl equipment performed according to IJN propaganda standards rather than anything historical... which is why they're the ones fighting the Abyssals instead of conventional craft.
Well to be fair... IJN destroyers could fly swat to a degree although I don't know how their USN counterparts could unload flak like mad.
They could unload flak like mad because the Americans had the rapid firing 20 mm Oerlikon and 40 mm Bofors AA guns which allowed them to unleash a hellstorm of flak at anything that even looked at them wrong

That would be overkill. Imagine trying to shoot a fly and end up demolishing the wall as well ^^;;;;
