The fact is that the Surface Pros have completely no competition, period. It comes with:
A pressure-capable screen along with a bundled pen that is suitable for graphics designers and artists
A full HD display
processing power equal to that of a notebook
an operating system that switches between desktop and tablet mode the the flick of an icon, and has 100% compatibility with both legacy x86 and modern Metro software applications
a sleek and highly portable form factor
No other tablet / ultrabook can claim to offer all of the above in the same package. Most rull-of-the-mill Windows 8 tablets don't have a display capable of utilizing a digitizer pen, and some even use Atom-grade processors to provide the computational power, while others cobble their tablets into laptop bodies that resemble some sort of Frankenstein.
The Surface Pro is really the most versatile, no compromise device ever. Even a Linux user like me is impressed with it, save of its price (way out of my budget) and the fact nothing in it can be user replaced (everything is soldered down).
Reader-added tags include "Take it whoopsie!" ("Ukkari" instead of "yukkuri"), "The rule of 'He who brought it up'", and "No 'Work' in the surv—gah, what are you doing".
The survey says please remember, remember December:
How was last Christmas? • I ate cake • I ate chicken • I played video games • I got presents • Happy Nothing Day

Some ThinkPad tablets can deliver stuff quite well too, and at a more affordable price, at that. I'm currently using a second-hand X201T and although it's not HD, it has a Wacom pressure-sensitive digitizer that utilizes it quite well, acceptable processing power for design/drawing softwares, and it also has a switch orientation button, albeit Windows doesn't handle it too well. I'm planning on switching to Linux, though, since I've heard there are driver packages for Linux.
But yeah, if you can afford it, and willing to commit to be a pro (heh), a Surface Pro 2 is the way to go. A Wacom Cintiq ain't too shabby either, but I'd prefer the Surface Pro.
But I'm a poorfag T_T. All these fancy devices talk just makes me drool for them more, dammit.
While that is one heck of a gift i think Kogasa actually dodged a bullet there.
Remember what Chen asked Ran in the same situation? A freaking Japan-Great Britain trip! Add to that Sanaewife is still waiting for an honeymoon and....
On a different note, Sanae's smile in the 3rd panel scream "extortion" but her expression in the last one is too cute for words! ^^

Join the club. An x86 tablet with a good digitizer and a non-atom CPU? I can't even draw and I want the hell out of that! Alas, my moneys equal practically zero so I'm just stuck with my cheapo Acer and old donation laptops my friends and family are generous enough to let me have.
