Seeing how none of the shinkaisei-kan have been confirmed to be United States ships, and a lot of evidence can be corroborated that they're in fact corrupted Ship girls.

It's probably a mix. Destroyer Hime is definitely Harusame, but Seaport Hime is Port Darwin, etc.
Probably the best explanation is that they're corrupted shipgirls from both sides, but we just never see any non-corrupted Allied shipgirls.
I hope they don't go the corrupted ship girl route. If for no other reason than that I want abyssal ships to be playable.
Looking at it another way, the devs could easily go the lazy route and have the abyssals as 'skins' (read: alternate art) for their counterparts with identical stats. Then they could move onto the money grubbing route and make said 'skins' cash-only.

This is what i choose to believed my friend, you may ask why? Because back then the US ship is far more stronger than any IJN ship and the same thing happened in the game, also there is a lot of equipment that a lot of people claim it came from USN armory. So yeah that's why.
A fellow on TV Tropes posited the theory that there is no Abyssal Fleet-it's an illusion programmed into the minds of the kanmusu to make them more willing to fight the other side's kanmusu. Take the destroyers for example-one would imagine the girls would be more willing to attack some sea monster than a middle-school aged girl.

Then explain Hoppo. They're shooting at what looks like a elementary schooler with no hesitation.

Then why is Destroyer Hime Harusame with a palette swap and her legs possibly sawed off? Aircraft Carrier and Aircraft Carrier Water Onis both look like Kaga and Shoukaku, and appear in the locations where those ships sank.
Yes, there's evidence that some are American ships, but there's plenty of evidence that these are also Japanese ships.
Hence, it's "corrupted ships", just corrupted ships from both sides.
I don't like corrupted because I'd prefer individual personalities for Abyssal girls. Fans have given them a lot of heart without them being some other character.

The troper who came up with the theory did so before Hoppo's introduction, so yeah. But even if she's young, she's still sufficiently alien-looking for the kanmusu to register her as threat, just like her older comrades.
