The reason I don't go for that explanation is the overt malevolence with which the women in the video are portrayed.
The pink-haired girl (apparently, "Hana" going by tags) is shown as both some sweet-natured damsel-in-distress in her past form, and as a vicious temptress and destroyer in the present form. She spends most of her time nude, but faceless and threatening, and ultimately rips the male apart. At the point right after this clip, she vomits sexual fluids at him, drugging him into an even darker stupor.
Meanwhile, the green-haired MeMes are like mass-produced sex toys littering the landscape, and the male character outright starts shooting them like they're insectoid aliens to be squished in an FPS. They are objects without individuality.
Again, there's WAY too many symbols of violence between the sexes for that not to be the major theme of the video. It's more likely the breakup caused the reaching for drug use, rather than the other way around.
I think it's just the guy's dream turned into a nightmare.
Hana is his Ex-gf, that's why the picture of both of them breaks up in the end. I thing Meme is an idol of his, based on the poster by his bed. The suit he wears when transformed is probably a hero from an anime he likes, he's making a figure of him and has his rifle. And the reason i think it's a dream is because of how the video starts and ends with him opening his eyes.
The reason he dreams of so much sex is because after breaking up he lust after Meme, his idol, and Hana, his ex. And he gets torn apart because he cant get over it even though he tries to.
Guess that if the lyrics get translated it will make more sense
The most-common (and believed accurate) description of this animation is that the guy, at one point, had an actual girlfriend, and, for reasons, wound up breaking up with her, possibly fearing responsibility or commitment. He then lost himself in textbook Otaku Waifuism, but that isn't really that fulfilling, and ultimately serves to make him lament what he's lost. He's thus in a state where he tries to lose himself in the escapism, but it's only making things worse for him, and he is unable to break free of his own weaknesses. He cannot deal with the decision, and thus he remains in his lot.
