Artist's commentary
Battleship Hyuuga
Due to fuel shortage restricting her movement, she became a floating gun battery outside Kure port.
On July 24th, 1945, 204 sailors, including the Captain Kusakawa, died during the bombing of Kure by US carrier borne planes.
She flooded and sunk two days later on the 26th due to some near-miss bombs' delayed explosion. Despite that, some of her guns continued to manned and she fought until the end of the war.
