Done. If anyone wants to know,I forgot to order Karaagetarou's new book in Reitaisai 11 when I order other books. I ordered it last week, may arrive at one or two weeks after. I will scan and upload as soon as I get it.(If no one upload them first,of course.)

This was dark for zounose. The myouren temple story was justifiable, and the situation in canni-can was understandable, but this is a situation that the participants know is wrong and serves no higher purpose.

No higher purpose? As it's been said in the previous pages' comments, this doujin is a story of Sanae's coming of age, only that instead of becoming an adult, she becomes a god that is able to stand among Suwako and Kanako as equals, instead of them being her crutches. True, it is a very revolting way of showing this (as per zounose's standards), but at the same time, it just feels quite fitting with the hidden dark secrets of Gensokyo. I for one welcome these kinds of interpretations, as they are a nice breeze of fresh air in the midst of wacky plots and rampant yuri. It makes you think and consider your morals and traditions.

Fully agree on that. Zounose's interpretations always amaze me, together with his amazing art, it creates a authentic atmosphere. Traditions like these keep humans, tengu, youkai and all together, if some don't like it (see Keine, Momiji and of course Sanae).
Also though she had only a minor appearence, I just love Zounose's interpretation of Momiji.
From, what I remember, Zounose made a doujin about Momiji before (It was his 2nd doujin), it was named Hunting Dog's Fang. There was no cannibalism involved, but to me it was darker than any cannibalism story Zounose had wrote

oh, didn't hear of that one I think, you got me interested, do you have a link?
So, based on previous stories, I look forward to the day zounose pens the tale of Marisa becoming a "true" magician.
Mainly because I'm morbidly curious if it'll include cannibalism as one of the steps in doing so, and how that possible interpretation will be received...
Many thanks. Actually read that one some time ago (and just a few minutes ago again), didn't know the english title though.

Now that I just read it again, I can only agree on that. And I can only repeat myself, Zounose's Momiji is amazing, together with his art, just perfect. Poor Momi doesn't have it easy though.
But thanks for reminding me of that, because of that I just noticed that at the beginning of this doujin she still wears the tooth necklace.

Yes, no higher purpose in the sense that it isn't solving any moral problems. The Myouren temple situation uses corpses to pacify youkai, and the canni-can situation uses people who would commit suicide to keep youkai hunger in check as well.
This story has Sanae and Keine sit back and watch an innocent child murdered for the sake of meaningless tradition and personal gain.
This one felt more like it was brutal for the sake of being brutal and made tengu mountain out to be villainous, while the other two were showing the unique solutions of Gensokyo that allow Youkai and humans to coexist.
Because someone decided that exhentai needed to be annoying.
Try here instead. Excluding loli and bestiality, g.e-hentai has the same contents as exhentai but has no issues in accessing.
I notice that there are still a lot of Zounose works that are untranlated and not in Danbooru, are we allow to copy some of them from g.e-hentai and put them here?

If there's one thing I hate more than any other when this guy's stuff gets posted it's this. People thinking his fanfiction is canon and touhou actually works this way.
Spoilers: It doesn't. This is fanfiction, it has nothing to do with the canon. Nobody's getting eaten, there's no "dark" secrets, it's a goofy lighthearted series and no amount of headcanon from shock value artists is going to change that.
Heh. I always think it's funny when artists tries so hard to be depressing, that charaters acts in unbelivable ways to justify the plot not coming into a halt which is the case of many Zounose's works.
Though this is what makes Touhou works fun. Every now and then there's gems legit depressing and completely believable in the series' setting.
everything about this completely pisses me the fuck off...at first she's against it and then out of nowhere she all of sudden changes her mind????...wtf!?!?!?...it just seems so fucking stupid to me...it makes no fucking sense...its so unsatisfying in every way possible....it makes me sick with rage just by how unsatisfying this is...nothing about this feels right...everything that has happened in this doujin is wrong...and the only thing that zounose uses in order to justify it is to use some shitty excuse like "tradition" in order to justify something that is completely & painfully wrong...it completely takes the fucking piss!

yes, you're right. But this is Gensokyo we're talking about, the place is like a avatar of ancient society, where they think that only a human virgin sacrifice is worthy enough to be given to gods. Sanae think that it's morally wrong but no one seems to think that it's wrong so she just goes with the flow, another thing to note is that these "tradition" actually works, unlike in the real world where regardless of who you are, you cannot ascend into godhood by doing any of these. Just for an example, in japan there're black companies, let's say a boy saw what the people in there have to go through, he doesn't agree with those companies because he thinks that it's morally wrong, then he promised that he will change it. But in the end he ends up in a black company himself
I know my example isn't the greatest, and there might be several faults in my comment. But I hope you understood what this book is trying to convey.

5 years late but yeah i kinda agree, she changed her mind just so the plot of the manga could move forward towards this specific ending. ALso the thing with Keine saying "this is necessary for youkai gods and humans to walk alongside each other" but like why lol. Its not really a compromise if the humans give up everything and get nothing and return, its more like a "do it or else" kind of thing. I don't think this was a bad manga at all in fact its one of my favorites but still some of the logic in it is kind of Iffy and the sudden mind change in Sanae wasn't justified. Zounose might as well as used the generic "no common sense in Gensokyo" handwave instead.
Huh...In a god-channeling way.It tasted like a pork soup with egg!I feel like the number of units has increased by one! What should I do about the sake...It's surprisingly delicious...?If I get accepted next summer Comiket, I plan on releasing a compilation. I also want to draw something to include it in, so I have to start working on it right after Reitaisai...
Well then, I hope we can meet again. This was my 12th book. I'm Zounose.
I've stubbornly stuck with the human flesh setting, but I think this is the first time I've had actual cannibalism.
All the times before, it was only youkai eating, or implied eating. I think.ZounoseAfterwordThis is the 3rd Moriya book, but I drew this intending on them to have a completely casual relationship. I also planned to have this be connected to the "Heartwarming Moriya Family Manga" that I uploaded to Pixiv (my very first Touhou manga), but it didn't quite fit in with the part where Suwako gives her the frog charm. And thematically, they overlapped, so I guess this book is more like a revised version.I might have written this in the afterwords in previous books or on my blog, but in the past, cannibalism wasn't something unheard of, and between hostile groups with different races or cultures, they were claimed to be not human. Or at least, that's one theory.
Speaking of violence, there's also "They're not human, so I bet they eat people too" and "They're not human, so there's no problem if you eat them".
And so, I think that was applied to how youkai are thought of. Therefore, I applied it to even gods, and that was the origin of this book.
Well, even without those thoughts, the gods and cannibalism have an inseparable relationship.
