I used to work for a pub chain, and one of the speciality foods was "Steak and Ale Pie" (Not unique to Marstons brewery, the pub chain-owner brewery, I know) made using the brewery's own Pedigree ale, and the alcohol boils away in cooking, leaving the flavour behind.
